A Bunch of Traffic Signs expands the TuttiFrutti vocabulary to an architectural scale. The title works literally in two directions: overlapping circular signs form a bunch of grapes, while the sculpture remains visibly a bunch of traffic signs.
Scratches, dents and perforations from the signs’ former public life become marks on the surface of the fruit, suggesting ripeness, damage and decay. A piece of driftwood and curling copper tubing form the branch and tendrils, combining industrial remnants with an organic structure. At 3.6 metres wide, the work transforms discarded infrastructure into an immersive symbol of abundance.
