A monumental apple core becomes the remnant of an already completed temptation.
In SCOOBADAMO AND EVA, Scoobafish revisits the story of Adam and Eve through humour, self-portraiture and reclaimed industrial materials. The forbidden fruit has already been eaten: only its oversized core remains, suspended against a black ground like evidence of an irreversible act.
The artist’s playful appearance beside the sculpture, holding two leaves over his chest, shifts the biblical narrative into the present. Temptation, consumption and consequence are treated without solemnity, allowing an ancient symbol to become immediate, physical and distinctly personal.
