Cherries enlarges one of the fruit’s most familiar natural configurations: two cherries growing as a pair, connected by their stems. The separate red forms are joined by long copper tubes that recreate the curved stalks and meet at a shared upper binding.
Each cherry is formed from a circular decommissioned traffic sign. Pigments and translucent resin create the depth and gloss of the red surfaces, while scratches, perforations and irregularities preserve evidence of the reclaimed metal. Copper tubing and wire translate the delicate natural structure of the paired stems into a visibly industrial construction.
