Ex-Pear depicts a fruit that has decayed beyond ripeness, becoming the remains of what it once was. The title turns decomposition into identity: this is no longer simply a pear, but an “ex-pear”, a former version of itself marked by collapse, rupture and time.
The same transformation is embedded in the material. A decommissioned traffic sign, already removed from its original function, becomes the image of another discarded body. Pigment and translucent resin preserve the damaged surface, while a piece of found wood forms the dry, twisted stem.
