Leftovers from Yesterday’s Dinner depicts a pear that has been partly eaten and then abandoned. Its missing flesh records an interrupted act of consumption: appetite has disappeared, but its consequences remain.
The work transforms an everyday food remnant into a monumental image of excess and waste. Made from a decommissioned traffic sign, the discarded material becomes the support for another discarded object. Layers of pigment and translucent resin recreate the pear’s bruised, moist surface, while a piece of driftwood forms its oversized stem.
