Trojan Warrior is the first completed sculpture in Plastic Apocalypse, an evolving project conceived to expand through a series of mythological figures built from discarded plastics and recovered objects.

The project began with an encounter on a Sardinian beach: among the debris washed ashore, a fragment of plastic resembled a hand holding a sword. That accidental form became the starting point for a warrior assembled from materials that had lost their original purpose.

The sculpture appears unified by its white surface, but a closer view reveals the individual objects from which its body is constructed. Containers, domestic fragments and marine debris become armour, anatomy, shield and weapon. The monochrome coating removes their commercial identities without erasing their shapes or histories.

The warrior is not presented as a conventional hero. It embodies the contradiction of a civilisation attempting to defend itself while surrounded by the material consequences of its own consumption. Ancient mythology and contemporary waste meet in the same figure: a new monument built from what our society leaves behind.

Plastic Apocalypse remains an open and evolving body of work. Trojan Warrior marks its beginning, while future figures will extend its mythology and confront different aspects of marine pollution, consumption and environmental responsibility.
