Scoobafish, born Maurizio Sergiusti, is the son of art. Originally from Milan, he lives and works in Sardinia. His showroom is located in San Pantaleo (Sardinia), where he arrived for the first time in 2016, on the occasion of an exhibition aimed at the redevelopment of the Gallura village.
Scoobafish: the origin of his art
His passion for the sea and nature led him to discover remote places, far from the usual tourist routes, and it was in one of these places that the inspiration for his art was born. His innate inventiveness and a mixture of techniques do the rest.
Maurizio mainly uses objects salvaged from the beautiful beaches of Sardinia and rubbish abandoned by the roadside, and transforms them into works of art. He modifies and assembles these objects, giving them a second life, mutating them into a series of unique pieces ranging from sculptures and lamps to writings, characters and portraits.
Maurizio manages to capture the figurative component in a simple piece of waste, reminding us that there is a second chance for everything.
Editorial graphics in the service of art
For Scoobafish, I was responsible for the design of his ‘Statement’; a booklet in which he declares the intent of his art. The publication, printed in June 2022, consists of 36 pages with a matt laminated cover on both sides. Inside are photos by Andrea Mignogna and texts by Michele Iurillo, translated into English by Jill Campbell.

The function of the booklet is to accompany the potential buyer or art collector to get to know the thought and action of Scoobafish, showing and describing the various steps up to the birth of a work: from the collection of rubbish to the exhibition in the gallery.
For Scoobafish, I also designed a flyer introducing the ‘TuttiFrutti’ series of works, created to raise awareness about food waste.
