With Kissing Plastics, I wanted to offer my own reinterpretation of Klimt’s The Kiss, through a contemporary lens that speaks of recovery and transformation. The sculpture is made from discarded materials – plastic, metal, wires, screws, and everyday objects – collected and assembled without necessarily painting them, allowing the authentic colors of the objects to emerge and tell their own stories.

This choice allowed me to preserve the original identity of each element, creating a mosaic of textures and tones that naturally interact without forcing. It’s not about replicating the gold or the lights of the original artwork, but about building a bridge between historic art and the real world, with all its imperfections and contrasts.

The result is a fusion of matter and meaning, an invitation to look beyond the surface, to recognize the hidden value in things we often take for granted or discard.
