Tomatinho captures a fruit at the threshold between ripeness and decay. Its bruised surface, mould-like blooms and punctures turn the familiar image of a tomato into a portrait of excess, vulnerability and time.

Made from a decommissioned traffic sign, the work preserves the scars of its former public life beneath layers of pigment and translucent resin. A rusted knife pierces the fruit from above, introducing a quiet sense of violence while transforming an industrial remnant into something intensely organic.
