Swinging Strawberry depicts an oversized strawberry suspended in an unstable, almost playful pose. Its bright red surface initially appears inviting, but numerous holes and damaged areas reveal a fruit already being consumed by deterioration.
The contrast between attraction and decay is reinforced by the sculpture’s construction. A decommissioned traffic sign forms the body of the fruit, while aluminium elements become its leaves and an iron tube extends the stem into space. Pigment and translucent resin create the glossy surface, leaving selected openings to expose the industrial material beneath.
